The science of nutrition studies the relationship between
what we eat and our health, and seeks to explain metabolic
and physiological responses of the body to a diet. Health
is the most precious gift that life gives us. By taking care
of our bodies not only we prevent diseases and increase our
life expectancy, but also greatly improve the quality of our
lives. The type, quality and quantity of food we eat have
a profound influence on our health and well-being. The goal
of whole food nutrition is to provide the optimal amount of
macro nutrients (protein, fats, carbohydrates), micro nutrients
(vitamins and minerals), phytonutrients (plant alkaloids)
and vital factors (enzymes) that insure and restore normal
body's function. In 400 BC Hippocrates, an ancient Greek physician,
said "Let food be your medicine and medicine be your
food".
Whole
food nutrition should not be confused with temporary diets
and popular weight loss programs. Rather, it is a lifestyle
of permanent and conscientious efforts to improve and modify
what we eat and how we conduct ourselves.

Whether
you are healthy and trying to maintain your vitality, or you
have chronic illness and are attempting to improve your condition,
whether you are young or old - you will be able to increase
your energy, reduce or optimize your weight, prevent chronic
diseases, add quality to your life, and ultimately achieve
balanced life of happiness, fulfillment and wellness.

The
fundamental goal of whole food nutrition is to provide your
body with inner power to heal itself. Deficiencies, excesses
and imbalances in diet can adversely affect health, lead to
fatigue, headaches, indigestion, back pain, weight gain, allergies,
insomnia and, consequently, cause numerous diseases.
Proper nutrition plays a major role in the prevention, treatment,
and cure of most diseases and sicknesses. Vitamins, minerals,
antioxidants, enzymes and fibers found in our food are the
strongest defense against premature aging, obesity, diabetes,
cancer, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, arthritis,
osteoporosis, allergies and many other illnesses.
